New Bus Barn for Council Schools

New Bus Barn for Council Schools
New Bus Barn for Council Schools

The newest addition to Council School District’s facilities is a great looking bus barn and shop all decked out in Lumberjack red and White! The 40 x 103 foot building will provide parking bays for all four CSD buses and the two white activity buses. It also includes a 20 x 40’ shop area to allow for maintenance of the buses, a 14 x 16’ shop area for parking and maintaining the maintenance vehicles, and also include a small office and restroom for the maintenance/facilities supervisor Eric Pfeifer and transportation supervisor Doug Kesler.  Relocating this bus barn and shop near our schools is not only more convenient for our staff and bus drivers, it will also save the district money on snow removal costs.

The steel package was graciously donated by R & M Steel and all of the construction work was done by Trevor and Travis Bonfiglio of TB Construction. They did an excellent job on all three phases; excavation, concrete and construction of the building.  Jefri Balderson of Balderson Electric  completed the electrical work and even donated a majority of her profits back to the district to support our future electrical apprenticeship programs. Thank you Jefri! Jon Anderson of Signature Plumbing, a Council High alumni, completed the plumbing. Two other Council Lumberjack alumni, Rod Kesler of Kesler Construction and Bret Olson with Knife River, donated rock fill and other materials to the project, and we can’t thank them both enough!

It takes a lot of community effort and the help of our great Lumberjack Alumni to get projects like our new bus barn built. Thank you to everyone who contributed, we appreciate every one of you!
