The next driver education class starts May 6th 2024.
To enroll in the class, attendance is required at the parent meeting on March 6th. The meeting will be at 6:00 in room 1 at the high school. The class fee of $300.00 is due before April 26th. Class size is limited and priority is given by age of the student.
Students must be 14.5 years old to obtain a learners permit. The learners permit must be obtained prior to the first class. The learners permit and payment receipts are required during the first class.
The class will consist of
a. Thirty (30) hours of classroom instruction,
b. Six (6) hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, and
c. Six (6) hours in-car observation.
Students must be at least 14 ½ years of age and are only allowed to drive with an instructor during the class. The instructor retains the student’s Driver Training Permit, and will give it to the applicant or parent/legal guardian after the course has been passed. The Driver Training Permit then becomes the Supervised Instruction Permit (SIP).
