This program employs 4-5 high school students and a crew leader each summer to work on Forest Service, county, and private lands in Adams County.  Work includes planting native vegetation grown in the Council School District-Forest Service Cooperative Greenhouse, trail construction and maintenance, stream bank restoration, range improvement inventory, and noxious weed eradication.  Students learn about many facets of natural resource management and gain valuable job skills like punctuality and teamwork.  Some have gone on to jobs or higher education in related fields after graduation; all have shared an experience they are not likely to forget!
